Who am I ??

Well, hum... Erik of course, but I'll tell you a bit more.
First and foremost I enjoy the simple things in life, like browsing the internet, taking a walk on the beach or woods, going out for dinner, or hanging out with friends. I really like the thrill of walking or hiking to an out of the way place and feeling at one with a piece of nature. But I also like exploring cities on foot too. Sometimes I'll find a cool place on a map or satellite photo then find the most interesting way to walk therefor an adventure. I also like the white sand beaches of Hawaii and those of Long Beach Vancouver Island. I like hosting and going to house parties, probably my favorite being my annual Halloween party. For the party, I grow lots of pumpkins for some pumpkin carving. But that's just the start as dancing, roasting marshmallows, hot tubbing and lots more always follows. A few more of my interests include photography, home improvement, economics, gardening, visiting the local produce market, walks (exploring almost anywhere), going for a frappuccino (my preferred form of coffee), the occational "club night", hanging out in Hawaii, snorkeling, and 80's/ 90's/new pop/rock music (my favorite 500 songs). I've done a bit of traveling in the States, Canada and Australia but I look forward to some more now that I'm less busy with work. I also love "classic" 80's/early90's music videos which explored the new medium. I'm into enjoying "a good life" but not into status symbols or what our consumer oriented society says subconsciously that we should have if you can afford it. Just because you can doesn't mean you should...(in my humble opinion).

I definitely enjoy my work, sometimes so much that I wonder if it really is work! I'd always known I liked computers, economics, numbers, and problem solving but without the internet, a related career just wasn't fun enough. Things really got interesting for me when the internet really took off in 1995. Suddenly the fun factor was there! With a lot of hard work and knowledge, it is amazing what one can accomplish! If you'd told me 10 years go where I'd be today, I would have had a hardy laugh.
